Parents are encouraged to visit and volunteer in their child's classrooms, and teachers may request parent presence for special occasions. It is recommended that parents contact the classroom teacher prior to a visit to plan a date and time for the visit.
Visitors are welcome in school buildings so long as they follow visitor protocols and their presence is not disruptive. To help protect students and school property and to prevent disruptive activity, school officials must know if any persons who not members of the staff or student body are inside the building or on the grounds. Visitor/Volunteers are required to complete a background check and sign the Visitor/Volunteer Guidelines form annually. Visitors in the building during a normal school day (7:30 a.am. to 4:00 p.m.) are required to check in the office to receive a visitor pass and check out before they leave.
Any unauthorized person on school property will be reported to the Principal or Superintendent. The person may be asked to leave. Law enforcement may be called if the situation warrants such measures.
